NBC's fair and accurate reporting of the BCCI investigation substantially furthered public awareness of the serious threat posed by illegal banking practices, including the laundering of tainted fortunes amassed by drug cartels and those who corruptly support narcotics traffickers.

Robert Mazur was the primary undercover agent who infiltrated BCCI and the drug cartel supported by BCCI's private client department. Mr. Mazur's role was made possible through the support he received from hundreds of other law enforcement officers in the U.S., England, France, Switzerland, Costa Rica, and other countries who participated in this investigation.
